Questions
Is the software really free?
Yes, when you process your card payments with Clover through Merchant Marvels. Booking, the calendar, client records, appointment emails and texts, payments, the team tools and reports have no monthly fee. You pay only for marketing texts, marketing email and your own number if you want them.
What if I don't use Clover yet?
The free software is for businesses that process with Clover through Merchant Marvels. Talk to us about getting set up, or about other options for your business.
What counts as a text segment?
A segment is up to 160 characters (70 if the message has emoji or some accented letters). A longer text counts as several segments. Most reminders are one or two.
Do I need the texting plan to send reminders?
No. Appointment texts (confirmations, reminders, receipts) are included: up to 300 segments a month per business, sent from the BookMarvels number as "Your Business via BookMarvels". After that they use SMS credits (or go by email). The texting plan gives you your own local number, registered with US carriers, for marketing texts and two-way texting; or connect your own Twilio account.
Why "via BookMarvels"?
Included appointment texts go from one shared BookMarvels toll-free number, verified with US carriers, so each text names your business and BookMarvels. A client who replies STOP to it stops appointment texts from every business on BookMarvels until they reply START; your own number (texting plan) is separate.
What do the 500 included segments cover?
Appointment texts and marketing texts alike, each month. After that, appointment texts cost 3¢ a segment, and marketing texts use SMS credits from a pack (1,000 for $25, which never expire).
Are appointment emails really free?
Yes. Confirmations, reminders, changes and receipts by email cost nothing. Email credits are only for marketing campaigns to your clients.
Is there a contract?
No. The texting plan is month to month and you can cancel it in Settings → Billing. Credits you have bought stay on your account.
Can I bring my clients from another system?
Yes, at no cost: import a CSV from Booksy, Vagaro, Fresha, Square or any spreadsheet, and undo it within 24 hours if needed.
